I am a sleep expert. Not as in I know a lot about sleep, just that I can sleep anywhere. Asides from the coaches, planes, noisy hostel rooms I’ve also slept in some more unconventional places; in clubs, in the queue for clubs, in the middle of the street and almost every trip I take, usually results in at least one night sleeping in the airport. People have often asked me how I can not care about spending my nights in Stansted airport, so I thought I would share my advice.
Large Hostel Dorms
I know a lot of people are put off by the idea of staying in a large hostel dorm due to snoring, READ MORE>>
good tips! The bus trick only works when there are no assigned seats, sadly :/
ReplyDeleteAh yes the window seat is the seat of gods. On most of the buses I've been on (admittedly in Europe) you can pick your seat. Otherwise the tray table works great! x
ReplyDeleteNice post, can I add the train to the list – I slept 2 nights in red kangaroo class (seat only) on the Indian Pacific by squeezing down onto the floor and lying under 3 rows of seats with my head on a jumper. Its not luxury but comfy enough. I agree with getting the bottom bunk for that reason, 2 times I’ve been on the top bunk when couples have had sex below me and it shakes about so much!
ReplyDeleteI was in the chairs on the Indian Pacific too. The last day they woke us up at 5am. I was livid. I should have tried the floor (thanks for the tip) but the chairs were ok. Better than paying the extortionate price for a sleeper.
DeleteI also love the bottom bunk because I am not graceful when climbing in and out it has to be said.
Haha this post is great. Sadly I'm the complete opposite to you - I can't sleep anywhere! 12 hours on a flight even with three seats to myself and I'm still awake at the end of it. Even sleeping in my own bed is a challenge!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your pink sleeping mask by the way. I looked for one like that for ages. I only have this disgusting brown one that I got free on a flight :(

All my travel accessories are pink (it's get embarrassing when it's everything I own.)I would have had a pink pack and sleeping bag if I could have found one.I got mine from ebay it came with earplugs and fight socks (dubious about those) but it was only £3.
DeleteIt must be weird to be on the go again after your year in Korea. Best wishes on your trip I'm sure you're having an amazing time :)
I so envy you! I can't even sleep in my own comfy bed at times. And like one of your other commenters said, I can't sleep on a plane either, no matter how late it is or how long I've gone without sleep. Count yourself blessed!

Sorry I'm not sure about the technical stuff I'm on blogger which I now realise is the wrong site to use. However I am going to talk to a computer minded friend and get a proper website up and running asap.
DeleteI think I really am blessed on that account, no matter how ungraceful I look when I sleep (strangers have taken pictures I believe it is that hilarious). Try the tray table tip I guarantee it's comfort.
